Things You Don’t Think About

Filed under: Uncategorized — Brian @ 8:15 pm

OK – things, I don’t think about. Maybe you’re more aware than I am.

Our water’s out. It was fine for tooth-brushing, but gone for drink-before-bed for the boys.

The power goes out now and then, but the water? I don’t think I’ve ever been without running water in my house.

How often to you use your fresh, clean running water without thinking about it?

  1. Are your pipes frozen? Or is this a case of the water supply gone bad? Either way, it’s a much bigger pain than we ever expect it to be. We have been without often enough that we now keep several gallon jugs of distilled water in our basement for just such inconvenient times (I’ve heard you should replace it periodically to avoid contamination). That said, as soon as the water is back on, we immediately start taking it for granted again. 8-}

  2. No – no frozen pipes. The weather’s actually quite warm!

    I have no idea what it was. The water came back within an hour of when it went out – too fast to fix a water main, I suspect. It was probably someone leaning on the wrong switch at the water … uh … station? plant?
